When the website is accessed, the hosting (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd.) processes technically necessary connection data such as IP address, time and requested page. Content and images come from the content management system run by Spatial Focus, delivered via Cloudflare. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Without consent, only the selected language (cookie, 1 year), the light/dark mode and the choice made in the notice banner (local storage, 12 months) are stored.

With consent given in the banner, the visitor statistics tool Umami is loaded, which Spatial Focus runs on its own servers. It records page views, referring page, browser, device type and approximate location (country, city), without cookies and without storing the IP address; the data is kept until deleted by Spatial Focus. The map on the contact page (Google Maps) and videos in project galleries (YouTube) are loaded as well; Google Ireland Ltd. thereby receives the IP address among other data. Without consent, map and video can be loaded individually with a click. The legal basis is consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 165(3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). Details entered in the contact form (name, email address, message) are used only to answer the enquiry and are delivered via the email service Mailjet (Mailjet SAS, France). The form is protected against spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, which transmits the IP address and browser characteristics to Cloudflare for this purpose. The news on the home page is loaded via the feed service rss.app and the image service wsrv.nl, which receive the IP address in the process. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) (enquiries) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (spam protection, news).

There is a right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
